Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?

i really want to get highlights. but my mom said that my hair will turn white.

-Does it really turn it white?

-How long does it take to turn white? (how many monthes)

Any other Info? PLEASE TELL ME!!!Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?
I have been highlighting my hair for years and never had it turn white. If you are really worried about processing your hair then, I would suggest that you go to a hair stylist and have them do it for you, that is one of the things they learn in cosmotology school. Keep in mind though, highlights are permenant so, if you don't like them you will have to grow your hair and then have the highlights cut out which can take quite a long time.

Haveing them done professionally can mean quite a bit of money as well.Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?
no, but if it cant take the color's chemical it can get splits.
Nope. She might be saying that so you don't get 'em.
no it doesnt. it only makes hiar thinner. but hiar turns white genetically. when it happens it will happen. hair dyes, highlights, etc have nothing to do with it.
no. i've got caramel highlights, which is a light brown. there are different colors for highlights. i guess you could get white, but that would look bad. The point of highlights is to not be able to tell they're fake. they need to look natural. Mine last for about three months. then, my roots just have to be touched up. it's expensive and hard to keep up, especially if you're young. you're mom probably doesn't want you to get any and i understand why. just wait til you get older and get them done.
okay, no it doesnt turn your hair white. the general idea of highLIGHTS is to make strands of your hair LIGHTER. you can have any color highlights in the world, from blonde to light brown to brown to red.
no only pieces of it
I have gotten my hair highlight since 3rd grade now in 8th my hair has never been white
ok,

no it doesnt turn your hair white the first time.

But my mom has been coloring her hair for like 20 or 30 years now and just recently she did it agin and some of her hair fell out and turned white and stringy.

But keep in mind she has been doing that for 30 years so it was overprossed.
well i think when ever you highlight ur hair and ur hairs a dark color(like brown or blak) u have to bleach it and then dye it the color. I think it's for blondes too. It will helps the color show more. I am not sure what ur mom is saying about ur hair going white, but that is all I know about highlighting ur hair.

Hope this helped!! :)
