I have light brown hair and I want to go medium blonde. Should I do all-over color or start with highlights?

start with highlightsI have light brown hair and I want to go medium blonde. Should I do all-over color or start with highlights?
you could maybe test on an inconspicuous piece of hair like underneath a layer or two. then decide based on that. I generally just go for it! probably why i've ended up having to bleech my hair twice in the last 6 months... purple - bleech - bright red - bleeeeeech, now i'm growing it out lol

What color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?

Hey guys! :))

I'm asian.

I want to get highlights, but I don't know what color I should get.

I have black hair. What color highlights would look good on me? Blonde? Red?

Or do you think I should not get highlights and keep my black hair natural?

Thanks so much you guys!

Have an amazing day! What color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?
asians should stick with BLACK HAIR! but if you really want to colour it maybe... medium brown?.. you won't really suit any hair colours especially blonde, white or red or infact any bright colours. goodluckWhat color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?
shes talking about highlights you idiot. Report Abuse

Natural black is gorgeous, but if your looking for omething edgy go to a salon and check out what colors they have for blue-black and red-black. They can just add a tiny amount of blue base or red and it will blend in and look natural and with good shampoo like Loreal Proffesional, it will be shiny, natural looking, but still have color. Thats what I did when i did it black, although i'm not asian. It would look nice though. Harsh colors like blonde and orange, yellow, green anything crazy will look a little weird. :]
Asians rule...i love them...anyways,i think you should get dark blonde highlights or honey blonde highlights...asians look great with blonde highlights...yes, keep your black hair natural..don't dye it just get highlights...they would be pretty! make sure you go to a salon they always do it better than a at home job...and if you have to highlight your hair at home make sure someone is there to help you...you could easily make a mistake!

hoped i helped:)
Haha you should get like a reddish, brownish, carmel color. haha a lot goes good with black hair, and it doesn't matter if your asian. Lol

I love Brenda Song's hair! These like pinky-red highlights and goldish.

She also has a look without the pinky-red.

i like it all black.

im asian too.

and my hair has like a brown shine to it, so i dye it black! lol.

anyways, i might get like a strip of bleach blonde.

i think it'd look cool.

but thats only till when my hairs really long maybe.
If I had naturally black hair I'd keep it, but if you want something different I'd go for a deep mahogany red.
Try a caramel or dark chestnut color.

My friend is asian with black hair. She got caramel highlights and it looks really good.
I have a friend that is Korean. She put red highlights mixed with a little of brown. It looks amazing! The natural black really stands out!
well..i'd reccomed getting extensions so u can change the color whenever and try both the blond and the red...hot topic sells extensions
Hello! Since you have dark hair please don't get blond. It never looks good, it just looks fake. Sometimes reddish looks okay but I think the natural looks the best.

=)
As a man who loves Asian women, I can say that I really like magenta streaks or blue streaks. Those look so hot! Don't bleach streaks - it looks trashy.
carmel,brownish,goldish
red or blonde would look good.

or even brown.
you should get like a reddish brown. still dark, but it adds contrast. I think blonde looks too harsh in black hair.
Yeah, I'm asain too. :D I personally think that you should keep your hair natural. It looks the best!
i think blue, red, carmel, brown!

those are some i think would look good!

hope i could help!
carmel
keep your black hair natural
i think u should keep it natrual cuz you should accept who u are...
red or golden always looks prettttty good
golden for sure
a kind of brown or mayb darkish brown
If you get highlights, make sure they are not too bright or chunky. If you do it, get a deep burgandy(deep red) but not blonde or pink etc. I would actually recommend getting a good haircut first then decide on the highlights. You can also purchase clip on hair extensions at a beauty supply store to try out some colors and where you would want them placed. this may halp you make a decision on if you like the look without anything permanent.

Highlights do not need to be all over your head. You can have them strategically placed. I have tried highlights and have always gone back to my natural color.

Good Luck!

Help! highlighted hair fading to yellow/brassy?

what are some good BLUE shampoos that neutralizes yellow/brassiness.

i need a blue shampoo to help brighten my hair up a bit. do you have any ideas??? thanks, girlsHelp! highlighted hair fading to yellow/brassy?
There's a purple shampoo and conditioner that you can buy at Sally Beauty Supply that's really good - sorry I forgot the brand name. I used to use that and it worked really good. Or you can buy Mrs. Stewarts liquid bluing (in the fabric detergent section of the grocery store) and dilute that with water to use as a final rinse after you wash your hair. Don't overdo it on the Mrs. Stewarts - cause once I added a bunch more than the recommended amount and I dyed myself blue like a smurf.

Badly highlighted hair question?

today went to hairdresser, she totally screwed up my hair colour - i asked for ginger highlights, she made it horribly looking bright red. how soon can i die my hair brown ? at least with non permanent hair die? can i do it tomorrow?Badly highlighted hair question?
If your hair was in good condition before you got the highlights, it's probably safe to color it now. You really should go back to the salon that did it. Sometimes, just slapping brown over it can lead to even bigger problems ( highlights grabbing a funny color, etc...), so you need to see a professional. They won't be angry. I'm sure your stylist would rather people come back if they're not happy, than to badmouth them all over town. If you really don't want to go back, I would suggest using a brown color enhancing shampoo for a while. Red is the hardest color to keep from fading, so it won't be long before the red highlights have lost some of their intensity. After a couple weeks, they may even have faded to the color you were after in the first place.Badly highlighted hair question?
I think the color shampoo would be fine. Try a brown or golden brown. If your hair isn't in the best shape, your highlights will fade. In the meantime, maybe try some protein treatments to strengthen your hair. Redken CAT is a great one. Good luck! Report Abuse

use a shampoo in temporary colour and you will be fine, they work by coating the hair and will also improve the condition.
Your hair is so soft
Wait a day or 2.... just to b safe x
You should have said your hair was not what you had wanted at the salon. They could have done a color correction or something at their expense since they didn't do it right the first time. If the stylist is working, go in and speak with the salon and see if they can do something about your hair without charging you full price.

As far as dying it again, I'd wait 24 to 48 hours to give your hair time to ';wind down.'; Doing it too soon or with just washed hair can fry your hair and make it difficult to get the color you wanted. Talk to the salon.

Tri-color hair highlights?

I recently heard of tri-color highlights. (Getting highlights but instead of just highlighting it one color, getting three different colors). I have darkk brown hair, I was thinking Red/Auburn and Natural blonde..not sure about the 3rd color or if I even want a 3rd color. Any ideas, experiences, or pictures? Thank you.Tri-color hair highlights?
for the 3rd color I would stay with a shade close to your natural color or a shade lighter or darker than your auburn shade. To many colors look foolish.

I have 3 color highlight/lowlight. Blonde/coffee/chili and I love it.Tri-color hair highlights?
I have dark brown hair and I did the tri color hi-lighting. I used blonde, red and black. I concentrated more on red and the least on black. It looks really really hot! I love it. Just make sure you balance the colors out and get it down professionally.
Just one piece of advice. If you are going to use any shade of blonde, get it done by a pro. If you are not careful your blonde highlights can have a greenish hue to them. I'm not sure why this happens with brown hair, but it does. I've had it happen to me, so don't do it yourself.
buy paint ...it will be cheaper in the long run...and save you alot of money...Clairol will be p-ssed...but you can do it...the paint is more permanent...thanks for asking ...good luck
I have tri-colored highlights the colors i have are like a light brownish blonde, a redish brown and then my natural color which is dark brown almost black. Just go for like the reds light browns and maybe even a blonde but not to blonde.
Tri-Color Highlights. When Done by A Professional, They Can Be BOLD Or Subtle. If You Choose Bold, You May Get A Burgundy Red (Red-Violet) A Copper Red (Orange-Red) And A Burnished Brown. (Dark Gold) A Subtle Version Might Be A Soft, Brownish Gold, A Cool Silvery Brown And Warm Caramel Brown. And Either Type Can Look Terriffic! And Be Very Low Maintenance.

GREETINGS, you could really go either way because of the tones in your hair. Right now it's popular with the celebrities to go with the blonde highlights, they do more of the redder tones in the fall.Help with hair highlights?
I think your hair would look great with red highlights. If that is a little to funky for you though, maybe you should try golden highlights. Unless you want a very dramatic look I would steer clear of very blond highlights. :-)
I just had my hair done with highlights. I kept my original color(medium dark brown) for a base, and did blond and redish brown highlights. Thin highlights. Everyone likes it.
try going with a lighter color than your hair
go with light brown and maybe a honey color.

Would red hair with black highlights look good? or black hair with red highlights?

i think red hair with black highlights would look better. but what i think would look even better is black hair with blonde, brownish and maybe even red highlights. or red hair with blonde, brown, and other colors similar to blonde. i think it'll look really good. thats just my opinion.Would red hair with black highlights look good? or black hair with red highlights?

Can anyone tell me what is the best product & method to make highlights in a chemically straightened hair?

black hair, style, fashion, chemicals, color techniques and trends for eboniesCan anyone tell me what is the best product %26amp; method to make highlights in a chemically straightened hair?
Clairol from the Beautiful Collection. It's a product for professionals, but you can buy it at a Beauty Supply store like Sally's.

This unique hair color is perfect for relaxed or textured hair. It enhances natural color, blends gray and comes in 15 gorgeous shades.

    # Contains Aloe Vera and vitamin E for superior conditioning.

    # All tones are excellent for refreshing color treated hair.

    # No ammonia formula allows use immediately after relaxersCan anyone tell me what is the best product %26amp; method to make highlights in a chemically straightened hair?
i am a professional hairstylist. I would definatly not try this at home. If you have ethnic hair, and it has been permanetly straightened, it is most likely very porous, and/or has become dryer from the chemicals. Your best bet is not to highlite. But, if you MUST, maybe just go for a few foil placed highlites just around your face, and nothing too light. The only way you will get the highlite in is with a ';bleach'; or ';lightener';, which will then require careful skill behind it to be sure that the appropriate pre-conditioning %26amp; post-conditioning treatments as well as proper developer strength are being chosen.

Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?

i really want to get highlights. but my mom said that my hair will turn white.

-Does it really turn it white?

-How long does it take to turn white? (how many monthes)

Any other Info? PLEASE TELL ME!!!Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?
I have been highlighting my hair for years and never had it turn white. If you are really worried about processing your hair then, I would suggest that you go to a hair stylist and have them do it for you, that is one of the things they learn in cosmotology school. Keep in mind though, highlights are permenant so, if you don't like them you will have to grow your hair and then have the highlights cut out which can take quite a long time.

Haveing them done professionally can mean quite a bit of money as well.Does highlighting you hair turn you hair white?
no, but if it cant take the color's chemical it can get splits.
Nope. She might be saying that so you don't get 'em.
no it doesnt. it only makes hiar thinner. but hiar turns white genetically. when it happens it will happen. hair dyes, highlights, etc have nothing to do with it.
no. i've got caramel highlights, which is a light brown. there are different colors for highlights. i guess you could get white, but that would look bad. The point of highlights is to not be able to tell they're fake. they need to look natural. Mine last for about three months. then, my roots just have to be touched up. it's expensive and hard to keep up, especially if you're young. you're mom probably doesn't want you to get any and i understand why. just wait til you get older and get them done.
okay, no it doesnt turn your hair white. the general idea of highLIGHTS is to make strands of your hair LIGHTER. you can have any color highlights in the world, from blonde to light brown to brown to red.
    no only pieces of it
I have gotten my hair highlight since 3rd grade now in 8th my hair has never been white
    ok,

no it doesnt turn your hair white the first time.

But my mom has been coloring her hair for like 20 or 30 years now and just recently she did it agin and some of her hair fell out and turned white and stringy.

But keep in mind she has been doing that for 30 years so it was overprossed.
well i think when ever you highlight ur hair and ur hairs a dark color(like brown or blak) u have to bleach it and then dye it the color. I think it's for blondes too. It will helps the color show more. I am not sure what ur mom is saying about ur hair going white, but that is all I know about highlighting ur hair.

    Hope this helped!! :)

I have chesnut brown hair with blomde highlights, brown eyes & tan skin. What eye colors should I wear?

Shimmer colors in brown and gold, hints of green set of the eyes!I have chesnut brown hair with blomde highlights, brown eyes %26amp; tan skin. What eye colors should I wear?
You shouldnt wear any eye color but your natural eye color. Its prettier %26amp; sexy to be natural..trust me.I have chesnut brown hair with blomde highlights, brown eyes %26amp; tan skin. What eye colors should I wear?
bronze brown with a little glitter to it. mayby some pink or white up by the arch in your brow to open the eyes and give you a fresh look!
I think you would look great in a mauve pink, various browns, a lavendar, various greens. Also shimmery colors would look nice took worn with these colors under the brow line.
you should wear bright colors such as lime green, yellow, orange, blue sky, white, jeans, in general wear things that are shinny.
    GREEN end the story.
earth colors would fit perfect! anything that looks natural :o)
Brown hair, brown eyes and tan or ivory skin are the perfect pallette for almost any colors. Light shimmery tones (oyster or pearl) are wonderful for highlighters (used all over the eye lid for a base of color) and then midtones and accents can range anywhere from neutral beige tones all the way to deep wines, blues, greens...almost anywhere you would like to take your look. The key is in the application and the application depends on your eye type. Close set, wide set, hooded, standard etc. Each type benefits from different application technique.

Your colors can most often be matched to a particular outfit. The best suggestion would probably be to head to the local department store, visit one of the cosmetic counters (doesn't matter which one, they are all trained professionals) and ask for application tips for eye colors. Or you can visit some web sites that will have application tips as well.

Hope all the advice you are getting here helps. Have a great day!!

If It's Not That; Tell Me By Adding ';Additional Information'; To Your Question.

A short-cut for pink highlights on dark brown hair?

i have dark brown hair and i want some pink highlights in my bangs

and i was wondering it there is a spray of some kind,or a short cut,for that.

i really don want 2 bleach themA short-cut for pink highlights on dark brown hair?
U have to bleach i did the pink highlights and after the pink faded i had cool blond highlights in my hair from the bleach so that was kinda cool i thought A short-cut for pink highlights on dark brown hair?
You can get spray in pink hair stuff at Sally Beauty Supply.. but it only lasts until you wash it out, other than that there really isn't a way to get pink in dark brown hair without bleaching unless you get some extensions of some sort and cut them off about the length you need. You can get pink clip in extensions at Sally's too.
i think the only way for that is to bleach them then dye it over. :/

or another way, is to get that pink in clip-in hair extensions. xD

What dye do I use if I have black hair and want purple highlights?

if your hair is really dark you will have to bleach it to lift the dark color, then you should use a purple rinse on top of the bleached highlights. What dye do I use if I have black hair and want purple highlights?
Because your hair is dark, you'll have to bleach it first.

BUT, get a hairdresser to do this, because you may

    A) damage your hair

    B) go very wrong.

Have fun =]What dye do I use if I have black hair and want purple highlights?
Go to a professional..only because you'll have to bleach the highlight area first, then dye it.

Purple dye alone doesn't have 'bleach' or any lightening abilities - you need to lighten the black. It's like taking a pen and trying to draw on black paper - it doesn't work.

That's for bold highlights. There's a dye by Loreal, and it's black but has a purple hue in the sunlight - that's a little more subtle but it will work on your black hair.
I just did this last week! -If your hair is naturally black, go to a beauty supply shop and get #40 bottle of developer and a packet of powder bleach-if you have died your hair black recently, I would go with a #20 developer has it is less harsh on your hair-follow the directions on the package for mixing and developing.

I just kind of painted the outside layer of my hair with the bleach using a tinting brush, washed it out after it got blond, let my hair dry, and applied Manic Panic Purple Haze to the hair i just lightened. Punky Color brand is OK, but I really prefer Directions brand if you can find it in your area.

put on a plastic cap, hit it with a hair dryer for about 20 minutes, then I let it sit on my head for about an hour after that. Rinse and Viola!

You will probably need to touch up the purple once a week and bleach it once every six weeks or so.
I dyed my hair bright black and got 'N Tense Purple from Sally's. I put streaks in and it looked great. The 'N Tense is a bleach and color deposit in one step. It takes 15-30 minutes to process. If your hair is natural then only 15. If it's dyed black then it may take longer, also start at the ends when applying and end at the roots if it's dyed black. I used the red on a friends hair and she didn't tell me her hair had dye in it and her roots turned out lighter than the rest.

I have tried all brands of unnatural colors and this worked best and lasted the longest since it bleaches too.
One way you can do it is by bleaching the parts of your hair that you want to dye, and then dye them purple so that it shows up. With black hair it's practically impossible to get anything to show up without bleaching. :( Beware though! Bleaching will dry out your hair and make it weak, so be sure to have a good shampoo and conditioner which nourishes hair and locks in color.
You can just use the purple black hair dye in the box...
I heard that the grape Kool-aid works for purple highlights, but honestly have a professional do it for this type color. You want it done right.
dont get purple hi lights, get your hair like super layered and big side bangs, and then dye the top black and skunk the bottom bright purple

You can get highlights but NEVER get blonde hair.

It will look way too fake and honestly, quite trashy.

Make sure you don't get whiteish blonde highlights, only like honey or caramel shades.
    I do it. i look hot !!!

I wanna get highlights in my hair but i don't know a color that'll look good with my skin.?

My avatar look as much as me as possible, so that's my skin tone. Any suggerstions?

Please don't say pink or purple or green b/c thats not a possibility....I wanna get highlights in my hair but i don't know a color that'll look good with my skin.?
I would say caramel or copper tones would work well. I assume your hair is black, so you should play up the warmer tones, but not going too light, because it makes it look unnatural. I think that the entire purpose of highlighting is to enhance the color of the base and make it look like your hair has more dimention, so white-blonde will only make it look stringy and, let's face it, trashy. Keep the color warm to bring out a glow in your skin.I wanna get highlights in my hair but i don't know a color that'll look good with my skin.?
    a light milk chocolate brown.
well if ur hair is like a dark brown if i were u i would try red that would look hot =)

    Bleaching hair? highlights?

what will damage your hair less, bleaching it all then just getting roots touched up or gradually getting lots of highlights and going blonde that way?Bleaching hair? highlights?
the highlights bleaching kills your hair and drys it upBleaching hair? highlights?
depends on what kind of blonde you want to go. If your going for the sort of natural softer blonde then you could just bleach it. But if your going for beach blonde or ';hollywood'; blonde than you def should go highlights there, the brighter you want it the longer you have to leave it in, the longer you leave it in hte more damaging.
hI IM A HAIRDRESSER MY HONEST OPINION GET YOUR HIGHLIGHTS DONE GRADUALLY, AND THIS WILL LOOK BETTER THAN FULL BLEACH.DO REGULAR CONDITIONING TREATMENTS AT HOME TRY AUSSIE CONDITIONER LEAVE IT ON FOR 20 MINUTES WRAP YOUR HAIR IN A TOWEL THIS WILL KEEP YOUR HAIR LOOKING GOOD. GOOD LUCK

If i put lemon juice in my hair for blonde highlights in the sun how long do i have to stay outside?

HELP! I WANNA FO THIS BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS-AUGUST 20,07!!If i put lemon juice in my hair for blonde highlights in the sun how long do i have to stay outside?
all day, if you canIf i put lemon juice in my hair for blonde highlights in the sun how long do i have to stay outside?
just a couple of hours should do it if u time it right. the sun is hottest between 11 and 3.. xx
as long as you can, but at the very least until the lemon has dried......you could try Sun in. I used to use that when I was a kid for high lights....
'Bout, 2 hrs. Should do the trick. Good luck!!!xxxx.
I tired. you have to stay out like all day long if you can. and MAYBE you'll notice a difference by then.
    Until you notice results.
I always put lemon in my hair when i go to the beach. Try to keep it in for as long as possible. Since its a natural highlight enhancing method, it wont happen very fast. Try putting it in in the morning and then don't wash it out until you shower that night. Lemon will lighten up your hair even when you are not in the sunlight due to the aggressive acids....but of course the sun helps it a lot more. The more times a week you put it in the better it will work...however like i said before don't expect results after the first few days...it takes time.
never heard of that but i would go out for like and hour then see if it did anything then go out again and see
it all depends on your hair, also at the drugstore they crry something call Sun-in and it dowes the same thing, also put your hair in sections when ya do it w/ the lemon juice, if ya wear your hair in a bun or pony make sure you get the underlayer of your hair! Good Luck! and if ya want BLEACHED out hair use peroxide but it can be damaging!
You need to keep it in for about 3 hrs in the sun min. Do it everyday. It doesnt really work. If you have brown hair it will turn it orange.

    Highlighting hair with cotton wool?

i recently saw a new way of hightlighting hair using cotton wool instead of foil, has anyone else seen this, if so do you no where i can get some more information, maybe on the internet.Highlighting hair with cotton wool?
It's not new. I have had it done over ten years ago at a salon I visit.

    I have also had highlights done with plastic ';clam shells';

I have pictures of the 'cloth' highlights being done. It looks kind of funny....almost like you have all these diapers on your head :)

The salon that did was an aveda concept salon in Colorado Springs, CO......I had been there in 3 years so I'm not sure if they still do it, but I can get you the name.

Not sure if this works but it mentions other products to use while highlighting.

Feel free to email me for pictures!Highlighting hair with cotton wool?
i am a hairdresser..i have heard of it but also ive heard people prefer foils...i mean at work we use cotton in between foils so the colour doesnt effect the skull...anyway i hope you find whatever you are looking for!
im a hairdresser and have never heard of it maybe its very very new?
I don't see what the benefit would be to using wool instead of foil. It's probably a gimmick.... like the way stylist use foil that is red or blue instead of plain silver.... it's no different then any other foil but it makes you think it's special hair coloring foil, lol.
Never heard of this it must be really new hope you get what your looking for .

    Red hair? highlights?

a lot of people at school been saying it lloks like i hav highlights but i dont and wen i go in the sun my hair looks like a brownish red is this a good thing to hav it natural? not the compliments.. the hair highlights and stuffRed hair? highlights?
This is a fantastic thing to have naturally. I spend way too much trying to get my hair to look like it has natural highlights. It will also be great if you ever decide to colour it, as then you will get some variation in the colour and it will look more natural.

It sounds like you have lovely hair. I'm sure the comments are just because they would like to have similar colour variation in their hair.Red hair? highlights?
everyone thinks that i have highlights in my hair too because i have strawberry blonde hair but i dont. don't do anything to it its fun to see how amazed people are when you tell them that its your natural color. a lot of people will be shocked
My hair is the same way and its completely healthy and I personally think the more natural it is the cuter it looks.

I want chunky highlights and I have dark brown hair. What color would look good?

I have mocha skin and brown eyes if that helps...I want chunky highlights and I have dark brown hair. What color would look good?
chunky and brown? i would go with a lighter color, just a light brownI want chunky highlights and I have dark brown hair. What color would look good?
i think a light brown or caramel colored will look really great chunky highlight are gorgeous and i totally wish i had your skin tone you sound really pretty!
I just got highlights 2 days ago and my hair is dark brown also and i also have moca skin and brown eyes, what i got is a carmel color, but if u dont want that u can try a blone, i got blonde 2 years ago and it was awesome 2.
    Purple, I Like Purple.
Well, i agree with the caramel colour suggested, a nice rich caramel. If you feel for a real change.. add a few finer highlights of a deep golden honey blonde and your eyes will really stand out. if you really want to go lighter than that you should go in stages and see what you like best. good luck :) changing your hair is a lot of fun.

    Hair Highlights Question!

i have my hair highlighted and i have a pool

i go swimming like every day

nothing has ever happened to me

    brunettechic78/alana:)Hair highlights!?
Go early and find a picture at the salon, they'll have plenty. From my sister (cosmotologitst)~Don't assume the stylist will know-they have a different picture in their head than you.
WELL THEN TELL YOUR STYLIST EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT IF SHE TRULY KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING SHE SHOULD BE ABLE TO TO GET IT RIGHT IF NOT THEY SHOULD HAVE PIX THERE THAT YOU CAN LOOK AT SO SHOW UP A FEW MINUTES EARLY TO TAKE A LOOK
I think jessica alba's pics of her golden honey highlights looks great...And if u dont want too many highlights, my stylist suggested (I just had highlights done too)..Just highlight the crown of you head (about inch or two above you ears)..I liked how it came out cause it did minimal damage..but look just as great!! hope this helped..
search the net for some pics so you can bring them to your stylist - there isn't anything we can do for you since we don't know what you want.

I have brownish blondish hair, and i would like to know how to have natural red/orange highlights?

i really want these highlight cuz all of my friends said i'd look cute with them.

Problem: I can't buy a kit or anything that involves dying hair.

I heard this thing about soaking hair in beer, yet i think it would be kinda gross and smelly.

Please Help !I have brownish blondish hair, and i would like to know how to have natural red/orange highlights?
sun in..it makes blonde hair the exact color u want.

its a spray and u just chill in the sun.

aavailable at any drugstores. or stores.I have brownish blondish hair, and i would like to know how to have natural red/orange highlights?
You can try lemon juice, but it won't necessarily make them red or orange, just lighter in general.

But, use fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed with water in your hair and sit out in the sun. It will give you natural highlights.

  • Hair: highlighting, low lighting, & dying?

A few days ago i got my hair lowlighted and i asked her to dye the bottom half of my hair my natural color (dirty blonde) and it looks like it has a red/light brown tint. it's a wierd color and it's definitely not my natural color. Will it fade? Is the reddish tint because my hair was a lighter blonde and then she tried to do dirty blonde?

I was born blonde and my hair gradually got darker but my natural color is still a dirty blonde/ kind of greyish brown...how hard is it to match hair colors?Hair: highlighting, low lighting, %26amp; dying?
I am blonde and when I try to add lowlights my hair seems to turn red also. Next time tell her you have a tendency to go red. If your stylist was to use ash colors you would probably get rid of the red problem. Hope this helps ;)Hair: highlighting, low lighting, %26amp; dying?
I know what you mean my hair color naturally is the same ashy color...I bet what happened is you have natural red undertones in your hair which have a tendency to come out when your hair is colored. I think two things happened you have the natural undertones and the lady didn't use enough ash because ashy colors are supposed to help neutralize the red and brassy colors. Next time I would talk to the hair dresser about it and see what her opinion is if you don't like it get your money back and find somebody else.
im so i2 doin hair i dyed ma sis hair i recomend dye dat ur hair color n da oter ahlf da color u want its da only way.. oter wise itl tak long 2 fade o it wnt

I have natural medium brown hair, that i never got colored before, and for the summer, i want to get highlight

sorry.... i said...I have natural medium brown hair, that i never got colored before, and for the summer, i want to get highlights or streaks of light blonde in my brown hair, so i want my natural brown hair with blonde highlights, but i want streaks more, so can someone please show me a box of hair streaks, if not streaks, then highlights of light blonde, so i can get that color with my real brown hair. Also would that look cute, or what kind of blonde should i get in my hair? thank you so much. (if you write a brief answer, i will check it as best answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )thank you so much! -kimba_da_best-I have natural medium brown hair, that i never got colored before, and for the summer, i want to get highlight
i dont know about you but in the summer my dark brown hair gets light brown streaks so maybe medium brown hair gets natural blonde streaksn summer

I need to get my hair cut, highlighted and styled. Any ideas?

i have curly hair but want hair like carrie underwoods, you know but sext curls. And heres a pic of me. my hair looks red but its brownish blonde really. so here:

plz hurry and help!I need to get my hair cut, highlighted and styled. Any ideas?
Please keep your hair long, lots of my friends with curly hair have gone short and it looks awful and unmanagable.

Keep it longer, but get some layers and some cute highlights.

Avoid heat as you don't want to damage your hair, instead scrunch it using some mousse after a shower, and use some smoothing shining spritz afterwards- perfect.

Work with what you have- don't try to straighten it.

if you do use some large barrel curlers, remember to use some heat protection.

you're gorgeous so make the most of it- having layers will make your hair look gorgeous and curly- not a fuzzy mass of hair.

    lol.

    have fun

Highlights on reddish dark brown hair?

Does anyone have any experience with doing this at home? I would like to put natural looking highlights in my dyed dark brown reddish hair. What product and method should I use?Highlights on reddish dark brown hair?
well ive bleached my hair and used products before, and i find try and use garnier hair dye... they work very well

    heres an example of one

http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/de鈥?/a>Highlights on reddish dark brown hair?
If you want highlights in any red then I would not do this at home! Red bleeds and it bleeds bad! You may want to go see a professional the highlights alone would likely cost around $50 but if you do them at home alone then there is a really good chance you will end up with pink highlights.

    Hair highlights!?

i have light tan skin and being an indian girl, im having trouble finding the right shade of highlights for my black hair... please help!Hair highlights!?
see a professional. We can get you a shade a few levels lighter than your natural color and it will still look natural. For best result be realistic in your choice. This means don't go blonde and don't let a stylist tell you to do this either. It won't look right and they will have to use bleach to get you that light. Often you end up brassy within a few weeks of the process. Its not worth it. Just pick something 2 shades lighter than your natural color and make sure your salon has a professional COLORIST, this is someone that has a certificate from a color company, not just the dept of state licensing board. You want to make sure you get the best for your money. When choosing the lighter color for highlights also make sure to hold the test hair next to your eyes, forehead, AND cheeks. You want to really be happy with what you pick before you go through with the process. In any event, make it clear you do not want bleach used and you prefer a color process. If they say it can't be done, you find a new salon cause they are incorrect and not educated enough to do this for you!Hair highlights!?
I have black hair...and i have the highlights of strawberry blonde. That would look really nice on you....which even better is a cookie brown. That would look good on you!
Why not put a red tinge it in with henna? I know an indian girl that did that and it looked really pretty with her thick black hair.

    Hair Highlights Question?

im getting orange and red ';permanent'; highlights on my brown hair tomorrow... how do you think this would look?

    o. i was aiming for the ';Hayley Williams'; hair thing... but in order to do that my hair would need to be bleached and im not into ruining my hair permanently...

im pretty nervous :| do you guys think it will look good?Hair Highlights Question?
Are you going for the ultra bright red and orange? Not sure who Haylee Williams is. If you are talking about the bright streaks, it will probably have to be bleached first anyways. Reds you can do but not the really bright red without prelightening. Some of the copper/gold colors are really pretty too. Any color process will damage your hair a little. Get a good color retention shampoo and conditioner from the salon you go to to get the color. Have fun with it! Good luck. Sounds awesome.Hair Highlights Question?
honestly.. red + orange highlights do not look in any way shape or form attractive.

if your hair is long enough why not go for a SOFT PERM? and get that out of the beach- wavy hair look? it is gorgeous.

spend that money for highlights on getting a massage or pedi+mani instead..

    red/orange highlights.. is a big N-O
Me personally i think it would look silly with orange highlights, red would be fine :)
i would advise you have a bleach bath, that's what we do in the UK , or it could go really wrong and the boys will definitely notice you but for the wrong reasons....
i would get temp like spray stuff for hollowen typ temps and see what it looks like so that way u can see what u would think of it and others would think of it too and if u dont like it u cant gust wash it out
    eww no!
I think it will look fine. A little crayz at first but then everyone will like it.
Seriously, orange highlights? Red is fine, but orange, permanent???
