Badly highlighted hair question?

today went to hairdresser, she totally screwed up my hair colour - i asked for ginger highlights, she made it horribly looking bright red. how soon can i die my hair brown ? at least with non permanent hair die? can i do it tomorrow?Badly highlighted hair question?
If your hair was in good condition before you got the highlights, it's probably safe to color it now. You really should go back to the salon that did it. Sometimes, just slapping brown over it can lead to even bigger problems ( highlights grabbing a funny color, etc...), so you need to see a professional. They won't be angry. I'm sure your stylist would rather people come back if they're not happy, than to badmouth them all over town. If you really don't want to go back, I would suggest using a brown color enhancing shampoo for a while. Red is the hardest color to keep from fading, so it won't be long before the red highlights have lost some of their intensity. After a couple weeks, they may even have faded to the color you were after in the first place.Badly highlighted hair question?
I think the color shampoo would be fine. Try a brown or golden brown. If your hair isn't in the best shape, your highlights will fade. In the meantime, maybe try some protein treatments to strengthen your hair. Redken CAT is a great one. Good luck! Report Abuse

use a shampoo in temporary colour and you will be fine, they work by coating the hair and will also improve the condition.
Your hair is so soft
Wait a day or 2.... just to b safe x
You should have said your hair was not what you had wanted at the salon. They could have done a color correction or something at their expense since they didn't do it right the first time. If the stylist is working, go in and speak with the salon and see if they can do something about your hair without charging you full price.

As far as dying it again, I'd wait 24 to 48 hours to give your hair time to ';wind down.'; Doing it too soon or with just washed hair can fry your hair and make it difficult to get the color you wanted. Talk to the salon.
