start with highlightsI have light brown hair and I want to go medium blonde. Should I do all-over color or start with highlights?
you could maybe test on an inconspicuous piece of hair like underneath a layer or two. then decide based on that. I generally just go for it! probably why i've ended up having to bleech my hair twice in the last 6 months... purple - bleech - bright red - bleeeeeech, now i'm growing it out lol

What color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?
Hey guys! :))
I'm asian.
I want to get highlights, but I don't know what color I should get.
I have black hair. What color highlights would look good on me? Blonde? Red?
Or do you think I should not get highlights and keep my black hair natural?
Thanks so much you guys!
Have an amazing day! What color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?
asians should stick with BLACK HAIR! but if you really want to colour it maybe... medium brown?.. you won't really suit any hair colours especially blonde, white or red or infact any bright colours. goodluckWhat color highlights look good in asian hair? :))?

Natural black is gorgeous, but if your looking for omething edgy go to a salon and check out what colors they have for blue-black and red-black. They can just add a tiny amount of blue base or red and it will blend in and look natural and with good shampoo like Loreal Proffesional, it will be shiny, natural looking, but still have color. Thats what I did when i did it black, although i'm not asian. It would look nice though. Harsh colors like blonde and orange, yellow, green anything crazy will look a little weird. :]
Asians rule...i love them...anyways,i think you should get dark blonde highlights or honey blonde highlights...asians look great with blonde highlights...yes, keep your black hair natural..don't dye it just get highlights...they would be pretty! make sure you go to a salon they always do it better than a at home job...and if you have to highlight your hair at home make sure someone is there to help you...you could easily make a mistake!
hoped i helped:)
Haha you should get like a reddish, brownish, carmel color. haha a lot goes good with black hair, and it doesn't matter if your asian. Lol

I love Brenda Song's hair! These like pinky-red highlights and goldish.

She also has a look without the pinky-red.

i like it all black.
im asian too.
and my hair has like a brown shine to it, so i dye it black! lol.
anyways, i might get like a strip of bleach blonde.
i think it'd look cool.
but thats only till when my hairs really long maybe.
If I had naturally black hair I'd keep it, but if you want something different I'd go for a deep mahogany red.
Try a caramel or dark chestnut color.
My friend is asian with black hair. She got caramel highlights and it looks really good.
I have a friend that is Korean. She put red highlights mixed with a little of brown. It looks amazing! The natural black really stands out!
well..i'd reccomed getting extensions so u can change the color whenever and try both the blond and the red...hot topic sells extensions
Hello! Since you have dark hair please don't get blond. It never looks good, it just looks fake. Sometimes reddish looks okay but I think the natural looks the best.
=)
As a man who loves Asian women, I can say that I really like magenta streaks or blue streaks. Those look so hot! Don't bleach streaks - it looks trashy.
carmel,brownish,goldish
red or blonde would look good.
or even brown.
you should get like a reddish brown. still dark, but it adds contrast. I think blonde looks too harsh in black hair.
Yeah, I'm asain too. :D I personally think that you should keep your hair natural. It looks the best!
i think blue, red, carmel, brown!
those are some i think would look good!
hope i could help!
carmel
keep your black hair natural
i think u should keep it natrual cuz you should accept who u are...
red or golden always looks prettttty good
golden for sure
a kind of brown or mayb darkish brown
If you get highlights, make sure they are not too bright or chunky. If you do it, get a deep burgandy(deep red) but not blonde or pink etc. I would actually recommend getting a good haircut first then decide on the highlights. You can also purchase clip on hair extensions at a beauty supply store to try out some colors and where you would want them placed. this may halp you make a decision on if you like the look without anything permanent.
Highlights do not need to be all over your head. You can have them strategically placed. I have tried highlights and have always gone back to my natural color.
Good Luck!

Help! highlighted hair fading to yellow/brassy?
what are some good BLUE shampoos that neutralizes yellow/brassiness.
i need a blue shampoo to help brighten my hair up a bit. do you have any ideas??? thanks, girlsHelp! highlighted hair fading to yellow/brassy?
There's a purple shampoo and conditioner that you can buy at Sally Beauty Supply that's really good - sorry I forgot the brand name. I used to use that and it worked really good. Or you can buy Mrs. Stewarts liquid bluing (in the fabric detergent section of the grocery store) and dilute that with water to use as a final rinse after you wash your hair. Don't overdo it on the Mrs. Stewarts - cause once I added a bunch more than the recommended amount and I dyed myself blue like a smurf.

Caramel or Copper. It would look cute. You could use those colors then put blonde highlights in the front.

Badly highlighted hair question?
today went to hairdresser, she totally screwed up my hair colour - i asked for ginger highlights, she made it horribly looking bright red. how soon can i die my hair brown ? at least with non permanent hair die? can i do it tomorrow?Badly highlighted hair question?
If your hair was in good condition before you got the highlights, it's probably safe to color it now. You really should go back to the salon that did it. Sometimes, just slapping brown over it can lead to even bigger problems ( highlights grabbing a funny color, etc...), so you need to see a professional. They won't be angry. I'm sure your stylist would rather people come back if they're not happy, than to badmouth them all over town. If you really don't want to go back, I would suggest using a brown color enhancing shampoo for a while. Red is the hardest color to keep from fading, so it won't be long before the red highlights have lost some of their intensity. After a couple weeks, they may even have faded to the color you were after in the first place.Badly highlighted hair question?
I think the color shampoo would be fine. Try a brown or golden brown. If your hair isn't in the best shape, your highlights will fade. In the meantime, maybe try some protein treatments to strengthen your hair. Redken CAT is a great one. Good luck! Report Abuse
use a shampoo in temporary colour and you will be fine, they work by coating the hair and will also improve the condition.
Your hair is so soft
Wait a day or 2.... just to b safe x
You should have said your hair was not what you had wanted at the salon. They could have done a color correction or something at their expense since they didn't do it right the first time. If the stylist is working, go in and speak with the salon and see if they can do something about your hair without charging you full price.
As far as dying it again, I'd wait 24 to 48 hours to give your hair time to ';wind down.'; Doing it too soon or with just washed hair can fry your hair and make it difficult to get the color you wanted. Talk to the salon.

Tri-color hair highlights?
I recently heard of tri-color highlights. (Getting highlights but instead of just highlighting it one color, getting three different colors). I have darkk brown hair, I was thinking Red/Auburn and Natural blonde..not sure about the 3rd color or if I even want a 3rd color. Any ideas, experiences, or pictures? Thank you.Tri-color hair highlights?
for the 3rd color I would stay with a shade close to your natural color or a shade lighter or darker than your auburn shade. To many colors look foolish.
I have 3 color highlight/lowlight. Blonde/coffee/chili and I love it.Tri-color hair highlights?
I have dark brown hair and I did the tri color hi-lighting. I used blonde, red and black. I concentrated more on red and the least on black. It looks really really hot! I love it. Just make sure you balance the colors out and get it down professionally.
Just one piece of advice. If you are going to use any shade of blonde, get it done by a pro. If you are not careful your blonde highlights can have a greenish hue to them. I'm not sure why this happens with brown hair, but it does. I've had it happen to me, so don't do it yourself.
buy paint ...it will be cheaper in the long run...and save you alot of money...Clairol will be p-ssed...but you can do it...the paint is more permanent...thanks for asking ...good luck
I have tri-colored highlights the colors i have are like a light brownish blonde, a redish brown and then my natural color which is dark brown almost black. Just go for like the reds light browns and maybe even a blonde but not to blonde.
Tri-Color Highlights. When Done by A Professional, They Can Be BOLD Or Subtle. If You Choose Bold, You May Get A Burgundy Red (Red-Violet) A Copper Red (Orange-Red) And A Burnished Brown. (Dark Gold) A Subtle Version Might Be A Soft, Brownish Gold, A Cool Silvery Brown And Warm Caramel Brown. And Either Type Can Look Terriffic! And Be Very Low Maintenance.camcorders

This is what my hair looks like

GREETINGS, you could really go either way because of the tones in your hair. Right now it's popular with the celebrities to go with the blonde highlights, they do more of the redder tones in the fall.Help with hair highlights?
I think your hair would look great with red highlights. If that is a little to funky for you though, maybe you should try golden highlights. Unless you want a very dramatic look I would steer clear of very blond highlights. :-)
I just had my hair done with highlights. I kept my original color(medium dark brown) for a base, and did blond and redish brown highlights. Thin highlights. Everyone likes it.
try going with a lighter color than your hair
go with light brown and maybe a honey color.
